Improved dissolution of ibuprofen after crystallization from polymeric solution: Correlation with crystal parameter

The objective of the present work was to investigate effect various hydrophilic polymers, such as hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, methyl carboxymethyl cellulose and poly vinyl alcohol, on in vitro dissolution property ibuprofen (IBU) crystallized from aqueous polymeric solutions. By using solvent-change technique, IBU crystal products were produced presence selected polymers. results showed that crystallization yield higher than pure drug crystals (absence polymer). SEM photographs revealed visible changes morphology FTIR spectra (polymer-treated) a shift acid- -dimer peak 1718 1721 cm-1 but absence specific peaks for An XRD study further confirmed polymers no observed A percentage cumulative release reported polymeric-treated plain IBU. Further vivo studies are warranted establish vitro?in correlation future technology transfer formulation.
